Write about your experience in polytechnic Ibadan
My name is olaleye segun damilare. I am a student of the polytechnic Ibadan and also from the public administration. Am currently in HND2.
My journey at The Polytechnic, Ibadan has been a blend of growth, challenge, discovery, and unforgettable memories. From the moment I walked through the gates for the first time, I knew I was stepping into a phase of my life that would shape not only my career but my character and perspective on life.
Academically, the experience has been intense yet rewarding. The Polytechnic, Ibadan is known for its hands-on, practical approach to learning, and I quickly realized that this wasn't just about reading books and passing exams — it was about gaining real skills that would prepare me for the future. The lectures were demanding, and the assignments often pushed me beyond my comfort zone, but they made me more disciplined and focused. I’ve also had the privilege of learning from lecturers who are deeply experienced in their fields and passionate about developing students.
Socially, life at the polytechnic was a whole new world. I met people from diverse backgrounds, each with their own story, culture, and perspective. Some of these people became close friends, others were teammates in group projects, and a few became like family to me. The campus is always alive — from departmental activities, to student union events, to the regular buzz around the hostels and lecture halls. It was a place where I learned to network, to lead, to listen, and to collaborate.
Of course, not everything was smooth. There were days when power outages and strikes tested my patience. Times when finances were tight, or when school stress weighed heavily. But those tough times taught me resilience. They taught me how to endure, how to plan better, and how to stay grounded even when things don’t go as planned.
One of the most important parts of my journey has been my personal growth. The Polytechnic, Ibadan taught me responsibility. I learned how to manage time, how to balance academics with personal life, and how to stay focused on long-term goals despite short-term distractions. I’ve grown emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually through the various ups and downs of polytechnic life.
Looking back, I am proud of how far I’ve come and grateful for every moment — the good, the bad, and the in-between.I believe Tyhe Polytechnic, Ibadan would give me more than a certificate; it will give me an experience that will stay with me for life
